We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Deidre Hill Butler as the keynote speaker for this year’s Fin Lit 518 Conference.
Dr. Butler is a Black Sociologist, Educator, and Wellness Catalyst with over 30 years of experience in education, community engagement, and social justice. She’s the Chief Collaboration Officer and Founder of Whole Praxis Consulting, where she specializes in bringing people and communities together to spark meaningful change.
She made history as the first Black woman to become a Full Professor at Union College, and continues to serve right here in our community as a board member with Safe Inc., an executive member of the Schenectady NAACP, and a leader in the Women’s Ministries at Duryee Memorial AME Zion Church.
Her background as both a sociologist and a former business co-owner gives her a unique perspective on the financial challenges and opportunities facing our communities today.
Her keynote, Net Worth & Wealth Disparity, will challenge us to think differently about money, wealth, and what’s possible for our community. You can expect powerful insights, practical wisdom, and the kind of conversation that sticks with you long after the conference is over.
