What does affordable housing really look like in Albany?

Join us at the Alice Moore Black Arts & Cultural Center for the premiere of “2 Thousand AND UP,” a short film created through the AMBACC Film Class exploring affordable housing right here in Albany, New York.

This isn’t just a screening , it’s an opportunity to watch, reflect, and have a real community conversation about housing, affordability, and the city we call home.

On September 18, AMBACC celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a special Poetry Jam centered around Latino culture, creativity, music, and community. ❤️🎤

Throughout the evening, poets stepped up to the mic and shared their voices, stories, and creativity with us. We also brought some fun into the night with Hispanic Heritage trivia, a DJ keeping the room moving with Latin music, and delicious Hispanic food for everyone to enjoy. 🎶🌎🍽️

What made the night special was seeing people come together to listen, learn, laugh, eat, and celebrate culture through the arts.

A heartfelt thank you to every poet who shared a piece of themselves with us, everyone who helped make the evening possible, and every person who came through and supported the event. Your presence helped create a beautiful atmosphere of connection and community.

At the Alice Moore Black Arts & Cultural Center, we believe the arts create opportunities for people to share their stories, celebrate their heritage, learn from one another, and build stronger communities. Nights like this are exactly what that mission is about.

What a beautiful Mississippi Day! 💜💛

Thank you to every vendor, volunteer, band, performer, local politician, community partner, and every person who came out and spent the day with us. Seeing so many people together sharing food, music, conversation, culture, and community made the day truly special.

We are especially grateful that we were able to serve food to more than 700 people throughout the day. 🍽️❤️ That would not have been possible without everyone who gave their time, energy, resources, and support.

To all of our vendors, thank you for bringing your businesses, creativity, and talents into the community. To our bands and performers, thank you for bringing the energy and music that helped make the day memorable. To our local politicians and community partners, thank you for your support, presence, and continued commitment to the community. And to everyone who attended, thank you for filling Mississippi Day with so much love and positive energy.

Mississippi Day is about community, connection, culture, and honoring the people and stories that continue to bring us together.

Thank you for making Mississippi Day such a beautiful and meaningful day. 💜
