Every scholar deserves a community that sees her potential, supports her growth, and helps her imagine what comes next. 💜

That commitment continues to grow at Albany Leadership as we welcome dedicated professionals whose experience, training, and care strengthen the support surrounding our scholars.

Meet Mr. Daquan Boykin, M.S.Ed., our certified school counselor! With 10 years of experience in education spanning classroom and student support roles, Mr. Boykin brings an understanding of scholars’ needs inside and beyond the classroom. His passion for family partnership, sisterhood, and a positive school culture reflects our shared purpose: helping our scholars thrive today and prepare for college, careers, and life beyond ALCS.

💜👏 A LITTLE LOVE TO START THE DAY! 👏💛

Last Friday, our scholars walked into something extra special! Staff, board members, and community partners came together for a Morning Clap-In, greeting our girls with cheers, smiles, encouragement, and all the positive energy they deserve! ✨

And the love didn’t stop there! Our scholars quickly joined in, cheering on and warmly welcoming their fellow sisters as they arrived. 💜 At Albany Leadership, we don’t just talk about sisterhood—we cultivate it. Seeing our girls celebrate and uplift one another was the perfect reminder of what our community is all about.

After making it through the first month of school, we wanted our scholars to know that their hard work, growth, and commitment to showing up each day do not go unnoticed. Sometimes, a little recognition and encouragement is exactly the boost we all need!

And if that wasn’t enough reason to celebrate… 🎉🎂 Friday was also everyone’s favorite Dean, Ms. Ogden’s birthday! Of course, we had to show her some extra love and make sure she felt just as celebrated! 💜💛

There’s something powerful about walking into a building filled with people who are rooting for you—and even more powerful when your sisters are right there cheering alongside them.

This Su***de Prevention Month, Albany Leadership reminds every scholar: you deserve to feel seen, heard, and supported. Asking for help takes courage, and you don’t have to have the perfect words to start.

Check on your classmate.
Check on your teammate.
Check on the friend who’s been quiet.
Check on the friend who keeps everyone laughing.
And make room to check in with yourself.

Sisterhood means showing up for one another—and knowing when to bring in a trusted adult. You don’t have to carry your own struggles or a friend’s worries alone. Reach out to a school counselor, teacher, or trusted adult who can help you find support.

You belong here. You are loved. Your voice matters. Your story is still unfolding. 💜🩵
