CAES (Classical Association of the Empire State)

CAES (Classical Association of the Empire State) CAES also strives to meet the professional needs of all teachers of the classical languages.

CAES is a not-for-profit professional organization of teachers and professors of ancient Latin and Greek, which seeks to advance interest in, and the study of the classical languages and civilizations in the schools and colleges of New York State. One way of meeting these needs is through the annual CAES Institute, which meets every fall.

The 62nd Annual Institute will be hosted at Binghamton University on October 10, 2025 at the invitation of the Department of Middle Eastern and Ancient Mediterranean Studies. This year’s theme is “Classical Texts, Contemporary Contexts: Relevance of Ancient Literature in Modern Education.”
