We are hiring for the role of Invasive Species Data Assistant! This person will help manage datasets and field data collection tools for invasive species surveys and management, used by natural resource managers, scientists, and volunteers all over the state. They'll also provide tech help and training to users, and assist with communications with partners and the public, especially around iMapInvasives.

Save the date to join an information session on our community science program for NY POOLS. Volunteers will be needed in 2026 and 2027 to survey select potential vernal pools in certain regions up to three times through the year to assess habitat, amphibian breeding, and other key factors.

GIS Specialist (Programmer/Analyst)
Full time / Permanent

The NYNHP GIS Specialist's primary tasks will be related to stewarding the New York Protected Areas Database (NYPAD). This entails working independently to source new data and update existing data through communicating with data providers. Additionally, the GIS Specialist will work to update data visualizations of NYPAD data and maintain web services for use by partners and the public.
