Join us on September 22 to celebrate 2026 Beacon of Light Honoree Mona Golub.

For more than three decades, Mona Golub has provided leadership throughout the Capital Region by building bridges between business and community. Serving Price Chopper/Market 32 and Tops, she has shaped the partnerships and public engagement that earned the nearly 300-store chain national recognition for community involvement. Among her most enduring gifts is Music Haven, a free concert series in Schenectady's Central Park, which has grown to include film and theater, and inspired the Passport Series at Proctors Collaborative. As chair of The Capital Region Chamber Foundation and chair elect of the Capital Region Chamber, she continues to share her wisdom and light with the community.

Yesterday marked a historic milestone as community leaders came together to sign the final steel beam for its new Applied Technology Education Center at Hudson Valley Community College. Opening in 2027, ATEC will train students for high-demand careers in semiconductor manufacturing, renewable energy, and more.

The Community Foundation is proud to support this workforce pipeline with a $100,000 grant from our Community Impact Fund.
