Whether it’s 250,000 meals to the hungry throughout the Capital Region, tutoring, summer and after-school youth activities, basic needs assistance, help in times of disasters, rehabilitation for those with addictions, and shelter for women and children escaping domestic violence, The
Salvation Army brings hope to those in need. Last year, more than 200 youth attended the Army’s residential camp in
the Finger Lakes. Each Salvation Army Worship and Community Center and rural Service Unit meets the unique needs of a particular community, ensuring that each individual has the opportunity to succeed. Our shelters in Schenectady and Albany offer respite and hope related to alcohol, drugs and physical, mental and emotional abuse. The Evangeline Booth Miracle House offers a secure place for women and children. The Adult Rehabilitation Center provides substance abuse
intervention to adult men funded solely through donations to the Salvation Army Thrift Stores.
