I want to share a brief update and a note of gratitude.
A few weeks ago, some inaccurate statements circulated among friends and in groups, including my nonprofit being referred to as an MLM. I addressed the situation directly and transparently in the video above because clarity and trust matter to me.
To be clear: my nonprofit is not an MLM. MLMs are for profit business models, and nonprofits operate under entirely different legal and financial structures. My nonprofit work is mission driven, transparent, and accountable.
Separately — and this is often where confusion comes from — I do have legitimate, for profit work outside of my nonprofit. Like many people, I have multiple streams of income, and the term “MLM” is often used loosely or incorrectly. It’s also frequently conflated with “pyramid scheme,” which is not the same thing. What matters to me is maintaining clear, ethical boundaries: nonprofit work is nonprofit, and for profit work is handled separately and transparently.
What matters most, though, is the support that followed.
Thank you to my family and friends who stood by me, asked questions, checked in, and offered help instead of assumptions. Your support — especially around Edwin, Emma, and the recent Make-A-Wish drive — reminded me why community is so important.
I’ll always choose openness, kindness, and doing the work honestly. I’m grateful for those who continue to show up with good intentions and big hearts. 🤍
