West Albany Bulldogs trailed by as many as four, but came back to best Silverton Varsity Foxes on Wednesday, 10-4.
West Albany Bulldogs won thanks in part to six runs in the sixth inning. Tobin Holloway singled, scoring one run, Jackson Ordeman singled, scoring one run, Lucas Klein hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Kaden Martirano drew a walk, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs.
Silverton Varsity Foxes got on the board in the first inning after Sawyer Enderle homered to left field, scoring two runs.
Silverton Varsity Foxes added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Enderle walked, and Nolan Horner singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
West Albany Bulldogs tied the game up in the bottom of the third thanks to two singles. West Albany Bulldogs tied the game at four on a single by Martirano.
Jaden Fifhause led things off on the mound for West Albany Bulldogs. The starter gave up six hits and four runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking three. Ryne Hockman began the game for Silverton Varsity Foxes. The starter gave up 10 hits and eight runs (seven earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out two and walking two.
West Albany Bulldogs amassed 12 hits in the game. Blake Linton, Kane Damon, Holloway, and Rylan Mathiesen each collected two hits for West Albany Bulldogs. Martirano, Holloway, and Ordeman each drove in two runs for West Albany Bulldogs.
Enderle provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Silverton Varsity Foxes with two runs batted in. The third baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Horner led Silverton Varsity Foxes with two hits in four at bats. Silverton Varsity Foxes turned one double play in the game.
