Indigenous Land Access Committee

Indigenous Land Access Committee ILAC envisions reclaiming land stolen from native people, honoring the land...our ancestors...and restoring our spiritual and cultural lifeways.

The Indigenous Land Access Committee envisions reclaiming land stolen from native people, honoring the land, honoring our ancestors who stewarded this land for milennia, and restoring our spiritual and cultural lifeways, in solidarity with indigenous people on every continent harmed by colonization. ILAC is hosting an ongoing sacred ceremony on the Gill Tract at San Pablo and Monroe Street in Albany, CA - all are welcome to sit in ceremony.

Dear family,

We will hold our Full Moon Walk on Sacred Land on August 18, Thursday, starting at 6 pm.

Please join us at the Sacred Arbor at the Gill Tract, San Pablo Avenue and Marin, in Albany. You can enter through the main gate on San Pablo, just a short distance south of the intersection with Marin.

We will pray, talk, connect, pray, honor the land, the ancestors and future generations, pray, thank mother earth for her gifts and generosity and offer our gifts back to our mother, the earth that sustains us and gives us resilience.

Blessings, peace, love.

Congratulations to the Amah Mutsun Band of Ohlone People. To UC President Napolitano, this model shows the way to conserving sacred native land for stewardship by native people.

May 26, 2016—In the diffuse sunlight of a thin marine layer, a couple dozen people gathered yesterday on a windy hillside just north of Davenport to watch two men sign a historic agreement. The Memorandum of Understanding between the Amah Mutsun Land Trust and the Bureau of Land Management guarantee...

From Corrina Gould:
"Please call and email the representatives of the City of Berkeley and demand that they work with all the Chochenyo Ohlone people. We demand that the City of Berkeley work with multiple and diverse Chochenyo Ohlone voices to create a transparent process of UNDRIP with free and prior consent on all zoning and future development projects."

Dear family and friends,
To better understand the purpose of ILAC, please watch this video. My prayer is that somehow the message of this film will reach the key decision-makers at the University of California to guide them in making a decision to stop development at the sacred Ohlone land they call the Gill Tract. As tribal chair Val Lopez states, every inch of land on this continent is native land. As the film demonstrates, responsible institutions and organizations can work with native people to restore native stewardship of sacred native land.
