MyChart Is Now The Leading National Pathway For Organ Donor Registration
In the year since Donate Life America and Epic connected MyChart to the National Donate Life Registry, more than 250,000 people have used MyChart to sign up as organ donors, making it the nation’s leading organ donor registration pathway.

“Surpassing a quarter million registrations in a single year is a monumental achievement. By integrating donor registration into the MyChart portal, Epic has fundamentally changed the landscape of organ donation,” said David Fleming, President and CEO of Donate Life America, the nonprofit organization managing the National Donate Life Registry. “This initiative demonstrates how technology can serve as a direct catalyst for saving lives by creating a pathway for generosity. We are thrilled to collaborate with Epic and look forward to the continued growth of this vital registration path.”

"Organ donation was never on my radar until that awful night of my son, Jace's, accident. I just thought people should put that little red heart ❤️ on their driver's license cause it was the right thing to do (AND IT IS) but I really didn’t understand the depth of it until it happened to our family. Jace's accident was horrible and gut-wrenching to say the least, but the easy thing was saying yes to organ and tissue donation because we had already discussed it when he turned 16 and got his driver's license.

To know that my son helped give others quality of life and longer times with their loved ones brings me much peace. I don't think I could bear the thought of burying him knowing I could have helped others and didn’t. Jace will forever be #22 in my heart and I know he is living on through his many recipients." — Melisa

Team Shout Out: "My name is Dana Jerzak and we walk Team Gavin Strong for my son. He was born with a rare liver disease (biliary atresia). He fought every day of his short life!! All he wanted to do was live life to the fullest!! He never got that chance! He had a liver transplant at 17months old, a bone marrow transplant at age 7 and a kidney transplant at age 8. He passed away at the forever age of 9 and a half 😢 . Our lives are shattered and we miss him terribly. We are not only a donor recipient family but a living donor family as I was his bone marrow donor and his kidney donor. We have a blood drive every year now to celebrate and remember his life and legacy of wanting to forever help people!! We hope to forever spread awareness for organ and blood donation!!"

"I am participating in the Donate Life Legacy Walk because I recently received the gift of a kidney from an anonymous living donor. On June 17, I received the gift of life from a generous donor who was supposed to donate to someone else, but it fell through. They still wanted to donate to someone and I turned out to be that fortunate match. My family and I are forever grateful beyond words. Because of this donor, I am inspired to raise awareness and funds to enable others to experience the same miracle as me. I have to give great thanks and love to my wife Cathy, who has been by my side every minute of this journey to support me and who brought this walk to my attention and urged me to participate."
