🍍 Did you know a pineapple is a symbol of hospitality?

During the 17th and 18th centuries, pineapples were rare, expensive, and difficult to import from the tropics, making them a symbol of welcome, warmth, and hospitality. Over time, the pineapple became a beloved symbol of creating a welcoming environment for guests.

And you may have noticed that special symbol around the House That Love Built! 🏡💙

💙 Happy National Nonprofit Day!

Today, we’re celebrating the mission behind Ronald McDonald House and the families at the heart of everything we do. We provide comfort, support, and a home away from home for families with critically ill children during some of the most challenging times of their lives.

Our story began in Philadelphia in 1974, when Dr. Audrey Evans, head of the pediatric oncology unit at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, teamed up with McDonald’s and the Philadelphia Eagles to create the world’s first Ronald McDonald House. 🏡

Today, the mission has grown into a global network, with more than 655 Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald House Family Room programs supporting families in more than 60 countries and regions around the world.

We’re proud to be part of this incredible mission and grateful to everyone who helps us provide comfort, care, and connection to families when they need it most. 💙
