Last weekend, members from PEF Division 194 represented the New York State Museum at the annual joint New York Archaeology Council and New York Archaeology Association in Rochester NY, presenting presentations and posters and engaging in workshops and meetings.

Division 194 members showed up at MVP Arena today to support the movement to .

Union members across New York came together to call for changes to Tier 6 that would make retirement more fair and sustainable for the workers who keep our state running.

Thousands of public servants are paying more, working longer, and receiving reduced benefits under Tier 6. Today’s rally was about raising our voices and reminding policymakers that investing in the public workforce matters.

When workers come together (through unions like PEF and our broader labor movement) we create the collective power needed to advocate for fair working conditions, retirement security, and dignity on the job.

To be counted, a ballot must be received no later than 5pm on March 10th, 2026 (received means “received in hand”).

INSTRUCTIONS:
🗳️You may vote in this election only if you are a PEF member.

🗳️Indicate your preference(s) below by marking an “X” next to the candidate(s) of your choice. Make no other markings on this ballot.

🗳️Insert the ballot into the “SECRET BALLOT” envelope and then place this in the business reply mailer.

🗳️Your name and address have been printed to the Business Reply Envelope pre-addressed to PEF. Your name on this envelope will identify you as an eligible voter.

🗳️Your vote will remain secret because the SECRET BALLOT envelope containing your ballot will be separated from the return ballot and mixed with other SECRET BALLOT envelopes before it is opened.

ENVELOPES RECEIVED WITH DAMAGED NAMES OR ADDRESSES WILL BE VOIDED.

Ballots will be counted on March 11th, 2026 in Latham, NY. Anyone wishing to witness the count may do so at their own time and expense. Please contact the Divisions Department at 518-785-1900 Ext. 337 by February 23rd, 2026 if you wish to witness the count.

Division 194’s Social Committee brought the energy at our Winter Extravaganza and reminded us that being an active member of PEF isn’t just about meetings and the contract, it’s about building relationships.

Showing up to events like this:

🤝 Strengthens connections across offices
🎉 Builds solidarity in a joyful space
🗣️ Creates informal opportunities to talk about what matters
💪 Strengthens our division from the inside out

Union power isn’t only built at the bargaining table. It’s built on dance floors, over shared meals, and in conversations that turn coworkers into community.
