In honor of International Overdose Awareness Day, we along with a number of our local community advocates and friends came together at Townsend Park in Albany to remember those we have lost and rally against the policies and stigma that contribute to the unfathomable number of fatal overdoses our communities suffer every single day!
Overdoses are preventable! With increased access to harm reduction services and changes to the policies that perpetuate stigma and criminalize drug users we know that we can and will stop losing our loved ones to overdose!
Check out some pics from our event! And please reach out if you or someone you know needs access to harm reduction services!

Good afternoon everyone,

Today is the kickoff for our very first “Virtual” Garden Party. Our goal is to raise $10,000 by Friday to help us fund our Client Emergency Assistance Fund. Through this program, emergency financial assistance is granted to CCCCS clients
for basic necessities such as food, clothing, housing, transportation and medical needs. The availability of
this assistance not only helps clients, but changes lives.

Please take a moment to check out the link below and share with your friends and family to help us support our clients. You are welcome to share it on the social media platforms you us or you can email the link to friends and family. Anything you can do to help us raise awareness would be most appreciated.

Catholic Charities Care Coordination Services

07/10/2020

For the past few years, Catholic Charities Care Coordination Services/Project Safe Point has hosted an annual Garden Party to help us raise money for our Client Emergency Assistance Fund. Our Client Emergency Assistance Fund helps to provide assistance to our clients with unexpected expenses; and this year, while we are still fighting COVID-19, the need is even greater.

Because of COVID-19, we are unable to gather and celebrate our clients and supporters as we have in the past. But….we have found a way. Please join us while we gather and celebrate “virtually”.

During the week of July 20th through July 24th, we will be hosting our annual Garden Party, not in the traditional manner, but in a virtual world via the following link:

At Our Fundraising Page - https://give.classy.org/gdnparty

By visiting our “virtual” party at the link above you will have the opportunity to donate to our Emergency Assistance Fund; not only in the traditional manner, but new this year, you will have the chance to purchase items designed specifically for our event. All proceeds from the purchase of any of the items sold will go directly to our Client Emergency Assistance Fund.

There have reportedly been a number of overdoses in Columbia County this weekend.

If you are using drugs, please take all precautionary measures possible at this time:

Use with someone

Go Slow with your use

Access Narcan

Make sure you have multiple doses of Narcan as we know Fentanyl related OD's can require more doses than are contained in a traditional kit.

Remember the Good Samaritan Law. The law protects you in the event you call 911 due to OD

Assume there is Fentanyl in your drug, regardless of what drug you are using

Call Project Safe Point at 1-866-930-4999, 24/7 to receive Narcan across the greater Capital Region

PS, there are many other ways to reduce OD risk, including access to housing, mental health services, etc. If you are or know someone in need of linkage to any service, Project Safe Point staff can help with access, navigate the systems, or advocate on your behalf. Feel free to give us a call 24/7. Stay Safe!

At Project Safe Point we believe unapologetically that Black Lives Matter.

We denounce racism, stigma, hatred and violence and with our mission as our guide, respond to and empower all persons regardless of race, creed or lifestyle. For this reason, we stand with the members of our community who are actively advocating against racism and uniting to address racial injustices. We stand with them as they fight to make a stronger and better community. A community where drug use isn’t consistently used as a weapon to marginalize, stigmatize and criminalize our Black and Brown communities.
