🐾 A Memorable Visit from Dr. Rusty Gibson
On September 25, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Rusty Gibson, who shared insights into the latest advancements in animal care and reflected on how the field has evolved since he began his journey in 1982.
Dr. Gibson’s passion for animals began early—he grew up surrounded by a diverse array of pets. After spending several summers working in a veterinary clinic, he discovered his true calling in veterinary medicine. He pursued a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Animal Science) at the University of Georgia, and soon after, earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.
Upon graduating, Dr. Gibson returned home to establish his practice, where he’s spent decades caring for animals and connecting with people from all walks of life. While his primary focus is on dogs and cats, his clinic occasionally welcomes horses, cows, hogs, goats, sheep, and even a few exotic visitors.
In addition to his veterinary work, Dr. Gibson served as President of the Exchange Club during 1997–1998. We were honored to have him revisit those formative years and take us on a heartfelt journey through his career and community service. His stories were both inspiring and nostalgic—a true testament to a life dedicated to compassion and care.
