Looking forward to Night 2 of auditions!

PLEASE NOTE: If you are coming to auditions for The Colored Museum on Wednesday (10/14), there will be limited parking around the theater. There will be no parking available on Second Avenue. We recommend parking by the athletic fields off of Frisbie Avenue.

********************************

Albany Civic Theater will be holding auditions for The Colored Museum by George C. Wolfe, directed by Aaron Moore, on Tuesday, October 13 and Wednesday, October 14 at 6:30 PM each evening (sign-in begins at 6).

In George C. Wolfe’s groundbreaking and hilarious satire, a cast of five explorers presents a series of 11 “exhibits” (sketches). The revue explores and satirizes prominent themes and identities of African-American culture. The Colored Museum explores contemporary African-American cultural identity, while at the same time revisiting and reexamining the African American theatrical and cultural past. The play simultaneously celebrates, satirizes, and subverts the African-American legacy. According to Wolfe, the legacy of the past must be both embraced and overcome.

We’re looking for African-American performers, singers, dancers, and actors who are ready to bring their talent, energy, humor, and perspective to the stage.
No need to bring any materials. Auditions and sides will be provided.

AUDITION LOCATION:
235 Second Avenue
Albany, NY 12209

PERFORMANCE DATES:
February 12, 13, 14, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, 28, 2027
