A heartfelt thank you to outgoing HAF president Matt Malette
An End of an Era at HAF
Some leaders make an impact. Others leave a legacy. Matt Malette has done both.
On September 24, at HAF’s Annual Meeting, we marked a bittersweet and emotional milestone as Matt Malette concluded his remarkable nine years of service on the HAF Board of Directors, including six years as President, and officially passed the reins to our new President, Shawn Morris.
It is difficult to put into words the depth of gratitude, love, and admiration we have for Matt.
For nearly a decade, Matt has given HAF so much more than his time. He has generously shared his knowledge, experience, wisdom, passion, and heart. He has been an extraordinary leader, a trusted mentor, a steady hand, and, above all, a true friend to HAF.
Matt has guided us through the good, the bad, and even the ugly, always leading with integrity, grace, compassion, and a sense of joy. No matter the challenge, he faced it with determination, kindness, and, of course, that unforgettable smile that could light up any room.
Great leadership isn't just about what you accomplish while you're at the helm. It's about the people you inspire, the relationships you build, and the strength of what you leave behind. Matt has done all of that and so much more.
Because of his dedication and unwavering belief in HAF, our organization is stronger, our foundation is greater, and our future is brighter. He leaves us in a far better place than where we began, and that is a testament to the remarkable person and leader he is.
While this chapter may be coming to a close, Matt's influence, contributions, and legacy will forever be woven into the fabric of HAF.
Matt, thank you for every hour, every lesson, every challenge you helped us overcome, every laugh, and every moment you gave so selflessly. Thank you for believing in HAF, for believing in our team, and for leading with your whole heart.
We are better because of you, and we will always be grateful.
This may be the end of an era, but the impact you have made will last for generations to come.
