Happy Labor Day from Capital Trail Alliance! 🌲🚵

Today, we’re celebrating the people who put in the work behind the scenes, from building and maintaining trails to supporting the outdoor spaces our community gets to enjoy.

Here’s to the volunteers, partners, trail crews, and riders who keep our trail community moving. We appreciate you!

Community is at the heart of the trails. 🌲

This week, we joined one of the regular trail runs through the Ravines and got to experience the community that has grown around them. We caught up with Seamus, an experienced trail runner, retired educator, and member of ARE, who regularly leads runs through the Ravines.

We also spoke with Jon, who coordinated the event, about what makes this running group and the larger trail community so special.

With around 40–50 runners coming together, the evening was a great example of what we love about the outdoors: creating spaces where people of different backgrounds and experience levels can connect, challenge themselves, and feel like they belong.

That’s what trail community is all about. 🌲
