The Furnace

The Furnace Our space is home to Tuesday night Food Not Bombs, FREE brunches every Sunday at 11 am, and a kickass silk screen lab.

We host shows and a monthly art installation as part of Albany's First Friday. We also host several workshops per month on everything from linoleum block printing to mushroom growing to electronics building.

2 things:

1. I'd like to commission a project to make a ridiculously artsie donation jar that's attached to the underside of one of the shelves.

2. I'd like to hand over my position as 84 Grand St Treasurer and Property Manager to Wes (fb: Rick Durango)

Dear Furnace Members: Adam Plass died in his sleep last night due to a heart condition he has lived with his entire life. He, with his funny laugh, wonderful art work and silly bandanas will be missed dearly. I would love to see a piece of his art hanging permanently in The Furnace somewhere. If someone would please contact me to work this out, it would be much appreciated. In addition, there has been some talk of a more local memorial service for those who are interested. Thank you to everyone whom has worked with him in his love for art and life.
