We are a modern-day social club determined to bring back the art of business networking, bartering information, business education and development, and business mentoring. They had a discussion on how the culture in the city hindered the development of new and existing business. Information on business was only shared between small groups and when new businesses are started there was little to no
support from previous or existing business owners. The community had a hush, hush mantra on new businesses and business development. After that meeting, a small group of Albany natives came together to talk, eat, drink, discuss the current culture in business development and leadership in the area. After a night of in-depth discussions, brainstorming, mental focus, and business development tactics two new organizations were created, 360 Albany and Albany Black Owned Business Services! The three cousins realized that this open-space was something that the area needed-more specifically Black- Business Owners, in the Albany area. They also felt that Black Business Owners needed a space to feel learn, network with each other, share ideas, and feel comfortable. They needed more business education and business development, through solid relationships and social activities. They wanted to recreate the companionship, share intellectual property, and assist their community in the nurturing and development of Black Businesses in the area. BOSS was born. A Little BA BOSS History…
