A Youth and community art program for the West Hill and West End Neighborhoods. Jointly Developed by the Eden’s Rose Foundation and Tru Heart, together with a network of sponsors and collaborators as a community coalition, to create a pilot art installation for community youth to develop and demonstrate exceptional ability in the graphic arts.
The G-Vap will be focused on individual graphic renditions of a common theme. This may take place seasonally or by time period whereby veted artists can be granted a space and materials to paint their vision of the theme.
The resulting effect should enliven and elevate community arts and bring recognition to the viability and prestige of folk art while directly celebrating the individual artists and giving a voice to underrepresented perspectives in the community.
By “activating” a space with graphic art that speaks to important topics both within and without the community, in the communities own voice, we hope to create a kinetic art dynamic. That is to say, this medium and the visions represented within create a relationship bridge and a powerful way to convey awareness that should affect both the artist and the viewer.
We see how social network implications through “weak ties” or “passive ties” can create resounding effects and be a powerful incubator for cultural shifts and awakenings.

Bringing community artists out of the shadows and creating a structured dynamic where they can be recognised and flourish will pave the way for incentivised learning, participation and inclusion. Skills development, self esteem and participation in the process of community development will pave the way for future contribution to community social equity by participants.
Drawing from a pool of potential contributors for themed graphic representations should allow for the selection of certain applicants in sufficient quantity to provide for rotation of artists and themes, remaining both exceptional and inclusive.
Age groups and affiliate institutions may vary but the artistic capacity of applicants should remain at the highest level as moderated by a panel of community qualifiers that chose the final participants.
A standard application process has been developed with basic parameters and clear guidelines to be presented to all applicants.
The initial location for the launch of the pilot run of G-Vap will be at 465 Central Ave running north west up Partridge St toward the summer your employment offices, Bleecker stadium and Swinburne Park. This should be sufficient to accommodate up to 12 artists per side and potentially more on one highly visible continuous surface.
This easily accessible space is also conveniently located between several educational institutions from elementary, middle/ high school as well as collages. The building can be directly accessed from both Central and Clinton Ave.
Individuals, organizations and Institutions that can directly engage in project activities including planning, coordination and Implementation are required for successful completion of the goals of this program as a community coalition and reference to the core project group should equally pertain to all active members.
Financial and material support is required to successfully conduct planning, coordination and implementation of most project activities and actors involved in the provision of resources for G-Vap should be referred to as supportive entities and recognized for their contributions unless anonymity is requested.
Working together as a workgroup or committee to develop a clear and effective plan for action and see through to successful implementation is made possible by the desire to serve in open collaboration.
The project will be developed under the umbrellas of the Eden’s Rose Foundation as well as Tru Heart Inc, nonprofits in good standing and also fiscally sponsored by the same.
