Outside of Albany Tech, Tomekia is deeply committed to community service and youth development. As the leader of a dynamic, values-driven fitness facility, Colton blends leadership, coaching, programming, and community building to help both adults and youth become strongerβ€”inside and out. Through structured group fitness programs, he designs and oversees adult strength and conditioning classes while also directing youth athletic development programs that combine performance training with character-building values. In her role, Vanessa works tirelessly to support school improvement and student success by organizing strategic plans that help Dougherty High School achieve its goals. She closely monitors the implementation of the School Improvement Plan (SIP), analyzes academic, behavioral, and attendance data, and partners with administrators, teachers, and stakeholders to drive data-informed decision-making. Through mentoring new math teachers, supporting instructional quality, and leading initiatives that strengthen school culture, Vanessa helps create an environment where both educators and students can thrive. πŸ“ŠβœοΈπŸŽ“

Beyond the classroom, Vanessa is a passionate entrepreneur and community leader. This exciting program day gave the class a closer look at how emerging technology, healthcare innovation, public safety systems, and cross-sector collaboration are shaping the future of Albany and strengthening the community’s ability to serve, protect, and grow.

Throughout the day, participants:
