The mission of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) Foundation, the philanthropic arm of AGD, is to passionately support the efforts of the general dentist toward improving the oral health of the public.

This November, the Academy of General Dentistry Foundation is bringing oral cancer awareness to Instagram, and we want YOU to be part of it! 🧡

We’re inviting the first 30 dental professionals to share a short video highlighting the importance of oral cancer screening and awareness. Your video could feature a screening demonstration (with appropriate patient consent), a quick screening tip, why you screen, or an oral cancer awareness or survivor story.

🎥 No fancy equipment needed. Just your smartphone, your voice, and a few minutes to make a difference!

👏Grant in Action: Making a Difference in Rural West Virginia

What can an AGD Foundation grant make possible? Access to care, oral cancer screenings, and meaningful moments for patients in need.

In 2026, the Foundation supported WV Health Right Free Clinic / WVRX and its Mobile Dental Unit, bringing dental care and screenings to six rural West Virginia counties.

From identifying a suspicious oral lesion that required further evaluation to helping a patient with advanced cancer find comfort and confidence through restorative dental care, the impact reaches far beyond the dental chair.
