This is the official Grand of New York Military Order of the Cooties (Grand NY MOC) page and its intent it to provide an information place where MOC/Auxiliary Members within the Grand and those Past Officers wishing to join the MOC in NY. C/Auxiliary members within the Grand and those veterans wishing to join the MOC in NY find information pertaining to the Grand NY MOC, namely information that will help with the successful operations of a pup tents in all aspects. Members of the Grand NY MOC and Past Commanders in NY should feel safe asking for help, guidance or advice about the Cooties. Professional discussion and courtesy are expected at all times even in those times we disagree with each other. This page is subject to certain guidelines that are strictly enforced at all times: (To ensure these rules are followed all posts from other than admins of the page are subject to approval first).

1. No Politics allowed, post your political views on your own page, not this one. Remember while we encourage everyone to vote and be part of the process the MOC is a non-political organization and will not tolerate violations to this.
2. While Pup Tents are free to post and share their events and accomplishments. No fundraising for ANY organization other than the MOC. We agree that there are many organizations with great causes to assist veterans however, using your Non-Profit status as a Cootie to fundraise for another non-profit on this page will not be tolerated.
3. No threats of legal action against the Grand of NY or its members and auxiliary.
4. Treat everyone with respect as threats, harassment, intimidation and abusive language is not tolerated.
5. You can say what you want all day long and we will help defend your right to do so as we have in the past however, you do not have the right to say what you want on this page, it will get your comments removed and if persistent you banned. Post your personal views/opinions on your own page, not this one. While all posts will have to be approved before posting, in order to avoid confusion and possible ban from the page, if in doubt about what you want to post on this page you may always contact the site admin, Dave Rogers, with a Private Message (PM) for an interpretation and authorization prior to posting.

On Tuesday November 16, 2021. Grand Commander Brenda Serena attended the Great Swampers 9.75 Pup Tent’s monthly Scratch in Carmel NY. She presented Seam Squirrel Karl Rohde a Certificate of Achievement for having attained 100% membership. A lousy time was had by all in attendance.

FLAG at Half-Staff

By order of the President, the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset, August 30, 2021, in honor and to pay our respects to the U.S. service members and other victims killed in the terrorist attack on August 26, 2021, in Kabul, Afghanistan.

George Washington established the Purple Heart as a Badge of Military Merit on this day in 1782. It was the first award that ordinary soldiers were qualified to receive and is the oldest American military award. Today, any service member wounded or killed in battle is eligible to receive the medal.

The VFW salutes all those who have received a Purple Heart as we are reminded that there is no freedom without bravery.
