Albany, we’re taking this to the streets. 🚌✊🏾

Buses are driving right past young people and working families waiting at the stop. A missed ride turns into a missed class or work. A missed class turns into absenteeism or a lost opportunity. And somehow the answer from government and stakeholders is more punishment instead of more support.

Meanwhile, Albany has been ranked one of the worst places in the country to raise a Black child according to the Child Opportunity Index. That’s not random that’s the result of policy choices.

Young people don’t need more punitive systems watching them. They need access to opportunity.

Fare-free transit is violence prevention. It keeps students in school. It connects families to resources, jobs, and programs.
It reduces conflict and removes barriers that push young people further from opportunity.

If we’re serious about changing outcomes for Albany’s youth, we have to change the social and economic conditions they’re living in. You can’t punish your way out of poverty. You can’t surveil your way into opportunity.

So we’re walking together to demand a Fare-Free Bus Pilot for Albany.

Knowing your rights is power. Using them together is how we change things.

Pull up to Legal Eagle with We Are Revolutionary every Thursday, 5:30–7 PM at the Albany Damien Center. We break down the political process, your rights, and how to advocate for yourself, your family, and your community.

Then we take that knowledge to the Capitol:

🗓 January 12 - Maternal Health, Dignity, and Consent Advocacy Day
Standing up for bodily autonomy and an end to non-consensual drug testing and screening.

🗓 February 3 - Youth Justice Advocacy Day
Advocating for the Youth Justice & Opportunities Act, Youth Justice Innovation Fund, , and to Protect Raise the Age. Food and transportation provided.

🗓 March 30 - Family Empowerment Day
Bringing families, youth, advocates, and policymakers together at the State Capitol to protect family rights, strengthen supports, and push policies that keep families together across New York State.

We Are Revolutionary is seeking a new co-working and programming space starting January 1, 2026.

As we continue to expand our youth organizing, political education, arts, and community healing programs, we need a stable location where young people and families can gather, learn, create, and feel safe.

We’re looking for a space in Albany that can host small groups, workshops, meetings, and trainings a place that believes in investing in the next generation and supporting grassroots work.

If you know of any community centers, churches, schools, nonprofits, or property owners open to offering in-kind support or discounted rates for grassroots organizations like ours, please connect us.

Across New York State, we’re seeing an alarming rise in the criminalization of urban youth and their parents. Families are being punished not for crimes, but for conditions created by poverty, trauma, and lack of resources.

This is not safety.
This is not justice.
This is punishment for simply surviving.

We need everyone to act organizers, neighbors, educators, community members. Stand with us to demand care, not cages. Healing, not punishment. Investment, not abandonment.

The future of our youth, our families, our communities depends on what we do right now.
