Dog lovers, this one’s for you!

We are excited to introduce The Night Watch, our newest design in the Paint for a Purpose fundraiser for The Cat's PawJamas Rescue!

Today we were reached out to about a litter of kittens in need. They are NOT in the jurisdiction of our normal shelter partner but they were called in to try and help. The person who found these babies took them to their local shelter who told them to take them to the vet and have them euthanized. The amazing vet they were taken to said no we will find a solution. The vet has offered to complete enucleation and neuter on the 3 kittens who need eye removal (2 will need both eyes removed and 1 will need 1) for a very reasonable price. We couldn’t say no to these little ones. So once they have surgery we will welcome the whole litter. If you would like to contribute to their medical needs any little bit helps!

Update 7:15pm: We appreciate everyone who's donated for Clover's care so far. At this time, the decision has been made to allow Clover to peacefully transition over the rainbow bridge 🌈 His injuries were extensive and no amount of money in the world would've given him the quality of life he deserves.

💛 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝! 💛

It wouldn't be a holiday without needing to answer a call for help, and we are so grateful we did. 💔

We've named this stray cat Clover, partially because he was found near a beautiful field of blooming clovers, and partly because he needs all the luck he can get right now. 🍀

This will be the only image we share of Clover's condition. We were extremely caught off guard on just how bad of shape he's in, and it's truly nauseating. Two of us nearly threw up, so please understand why we are NOT sharing those images.

Here's the starting list:
▪︎ Injury to the right rear leg causing him to be completely non-weight bearing
▪︎ Fly Strike to the extreme, covering nearly 75% of his body
▪︎ Maggots. That's all we'll say on that one.
▪︎ Underweight
▪︎ Dehydrated

Right now Clover is on his way to VCA Middleton. There's still some fight in him and we want to fight for him. If there's every been a time to donate and support us, it's now 💕

It’s so much easier for us to say yes to accepting a kitten into rescue if you offer to foster! Bathrooms work, laundry rooms work, even large dog kennels or critter cages (we love our Ferret Nations!) are perfect foster spaces especially for kittens!

🐾 "I found a kitten, but I already have 3 cats..." 🐾

We hear this one a lot, and we have a little secret to share...

YOU are the help. 😂

Every time someone contacts a rescue because they found a kitten but already has a few cats, we have to gently explain that most rescue volunteers aren't operating a magical kitten-free sanctuary somewhere. We're sitting in our houses surrounded by cats too.

You have 3 cats? That's adorable.

Most of our volunteers have 15+ cats, plus fosters, plus bottle babies, plus the occasional animal that showed up and never left. 🤦‍♀️

Rescues aren't buildings full of empty cages waiting for kittens. We're regular people opening our homes, spare bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and sometimes our sanity to animals in need.

So when you find a kitten, congratulations! You may have accidentally become part of animal rescue. ❤️

We'll help with advice and resources when possible —but sometimes the biggest difference-maker is the person who found them.

And yes, we know. One kitten somehow takes up more space than 15 adult cats.

Tomorrow is the day! Join us and come meet your new best friend! We have kittens and cats of all kinds. Like them fluffy? We have those! Like blue eyes? We have those too! If you want snuggly or playful or chill or maybe a little bit crazy we have options. Coming to an adoption event is a GREAT way to find the best fit because you can meet many at once and see who you connect with.
