Somos has stood shoulder to shoulder with the people of Puerto Rico since our inception 40 years ago. As the leading organization in New York State advocating for and empowering the millions of Latino voices throughout the Empire State, Somos has always committed, along with our partners in the New York State Legislature, to support Puerto Rico. From providing hurricane relief and combating the effects of devastating climate change to directly supporting small businesses and community organizations on the island, we've been there and will continue to be.

Our upcoming annual conference in Puerto Rico includes New York's top decision-makers and legislative workshops focused specifically on sustainability, where panelists discuss innovative, actionable solutions to the challenges these communities face. The most effective way to understand and amplify a community's needs is to go directly to them.

Join us as we celebrate **40 years of leadership, advocacy, and impact** at the **2026 Somos Puerto Rico Conference**!

On behalf of the NYS Puerto Rican–Hispanic Task Force and the Somos Inc. team, we invite policymakers, community leaders, advocates, educators, and industry experts to help shape this year's conversations by submitting a proposal for a legislative workshop or panel.

This is your opportunity to share innovative ideas, inspire meaningful dialogue, and contribute to policies and solutions that strengthen Hispanic and Latino communities throughout New York State and beyond.

Somos Inc. was proud to join (Produce Pickup Project) weekly food giveaway in Albany, distributing over 100 bags of fresh produce to local families. We also had the opportunity to inform the community about who Somos Inc. is and the work it has done these past 40 years, and the history that it continues to build.
