Adobe de Oro will be having an horno bread fundraiser. All proceeds will help us continue our arts programs throughout the San Luis Valley.

Bread will be $10 a loaf.

Unearthing Futures / Desenterrando Futuros opens at Fort Garland Museum & Cultural Center ☀️ beginning at 10 AM this Sunday, June 28!

Join us for an opening celebration of this immersive art experience and celebrate all about creating with adobe! Meet the artists, enjoy live music, and participate in hands-on activities for all ages.

From the high deserts of southern Colorado and northern New Mexico to the valleys of northern Argentina, earth, water, and fiber have long been shaped by hand and sustained through communal care. Adobe endures not through permanence but through renewal — its survival bound to the annual acts of maintenance, ceremony, and reciprocity that give it life.

Presented through a collaboration between the Fort Garland Museum & Cultural Center and The Harwood Museum of Art in Taos, New Mexico, Unearthing Futures extends beyond the gallery to encompass a network of historic and contemporary adobe structures across the Southwest. These include homes, churches, and community spaces that serve as living archives of memory, labor, and cultural continuity.

Jump in The Dream Machine for a Future Town Tour, we will have food, conversation, brick making in The Grounds, and a panel discussion on the main stage for a Warm Cookies of the Revolution program "Show and Tell Mix Tape" with 4 incredible guest speakers; Lares Feliciano, Sarah Birds, Tori Martinez, and Jessica Chacon with MC support Adrian Molina and The Church Project founder, Madeleine Ahlborn.
To cap the evening we will enjoy a community dinner with Sabor de Vida and a boogie down in The Grounds!

Join our 1-Week Hands-On History Adobe Camp for kids grades 2-8! Campers will learn the ancient art of making adobe bricks using real mud, teamwork, and creativity. Dig in, build big, and discover how people built homes for centuries! 🌞
