From exploring Zapata Falls to sharing stories under the stars at the Great Sand Dunes, our Camping Backyard to Backcountry program was such a memorable experience for our new Alpine Achievers Initiative cohort! 🏕️🌠 Our members also discovered their mentor-mentee pairings for the year on this trip, so it was great opportunity to set intentions for the year and continue building community together! 🫱🏽‍🫲🏼

Today marks 33 years since the National and Community Service Trust Act was signed, creating AmeriCorps and establishing a national commitment to service.

Since 1993, AmeriCorps has expanded opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to get involved in meaningful service, strengthen civic engagement, and support the needs of communities nationwide.

We’re proud to celebrate this milestone and the lasting impact of national service. 💙

Now that we're starting to welcome our new '26-'27 AmeriCorps cohort members into our sites and communities, we wanted to take a moment to share our appreciation for everything our '25-'26 AmeriCorps cohort accomplished within and beyond our Alpine Achievers Initiative program. Thank you for pouring so much care, energy, and dedication into your service throughout this past year. It was lovely getting a chance to celebrate you all at graduation, and we'll be cheering you on as you embark on your next adventures!! 🎓🎉

Our AmeriCorps members had a wonderful time getting to experience rafting on the Rio Grande together through our Backyard to Backcountry program, it was a great opportunity for the cohort to spend time together and take in the beauty of the San Luis Valley area!! 🌲🚣🏼⛰️
