Crockett County Amateur Radio Society Our goal is to provide back up communication to public safety service in times of disaster, declared emergencies, and community special events.

We meet on the third Thursday of the month inside the Crockett County EMA Building at 7:00 pm.

For our regular monthly meeting in February we will have a short business meeting and then a first aid training led by Randy amd Cody Smith. The course is $25 if you want certification and will certify you in Hearaver CPR and basic first aid. The meeting and training will be held on Saturday February 17 at 9AM at the Gadsden Volunteer Fire Department/Gadsden Community Center. We are meeting on Saturday to allow enough time to complete the training, and we should be finished between 12 and 1pm. Please RSVP to this post or the email announcement to let us know how many people are coming.

The regularly scheduled club meeting for Thursday January 18 at 7pm is CANCELLED due to hazardous weather and road conditions. Everyone stay warm and safe.

Update: the visitation for Mr. Waldrop is scheduled for Monday at 12 noon at Arrington's on University Parkway in Jackson. Service will follow at 2pm.

Please keep Keith, KK4OWI, Barry, N4CXA, and the Waldrop family in your prayers. Keith and Barry's father passed away late last night. Arrangements are incomplete at this time. Information will be passed once it's available.

Hope everyone had a great Field Day! Springhill Repeater Association- the Gibson, Crockett, and Haywood County clubs- had awesome success and great fellowship this weekend. We ran class 3A and unofficially had just over 1000 contacts! We also had a few GOTA operators including 1 youth, and 37 visitors to the site to share our evening meal. Special thanks to Section Manager David Thomas and Assistant Section Manager Chuck Talley for making the trip to visit us. A good time was had by all and we look forward to next year.

CCARS will participate in Field Day! See below.

Springhill Repeater Association to take part in Field Day 2023 operations

Starting at 1pm Saturday, June 24 until 1pm on Sunday, June 25, the Springhill Repeater Association- comprised of members of the Area Wide Amateur Radio Association (AWARA), members of the Crockett County Amateur Radio Society (CCARS), and members of Haywood County Amateur Radio Group (HCARG)- will take part in Field Day 2023. Field Day is an annual radio contest held by the American Radio Relay League that helps licensed amateurs to hone their skills by operating in locations other than their home stations under less than ideal conditions. Practicing radio communications helps licensed amateur radio stations assist their local communities during emergencies/disasters, in addition to advancing the art of non-professional radio communication as a hobby. Non-licensed persons are highly encouraged to come visit and get on the air at any Field Day site using specially designated Get On The Air (GOTA) stations. Field Day is an excellent opportunity for those interested in radio communication to come and see what amateur radio is all about. Springhill Repeater Association will be operating at Springhill Elementary School, located at 84 State Route 188 Trenton, TN 38382. Everyone is welcome. For more information contact:
