What is EMDR therapy, and how does it help people who have experienced trauma?

We sat down with Junie (.junie_therapy), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, to get the answers.

We believe sharing your experiences with mental health challenges can help improve well-being, promote self-acceptance, educate the public, dispel pervasive stereotypes, and ultimately catalyze change.

That is why the Humans Love Love Foundation is excited to introduce Submit Your Story, a new feature on our website where you can share your story for others to see across our platforms. Together, we can form connections and make a positive difference in the world.

If you have struggled with mental health challenges and have found ways to successfully manage them, the Humans Love Love Foundation encourages you to Submit Your Story.

Storytelling is empowering. It has the ability to inform, inspire, and heal. Submit Your Story allows individuals to share their experiences with mental health challenges, educate the public about the realities of living with a mental illness, and help dispel pervasive stereotypes that follow.

The new #988 mental health hotline is live. 988 is part of a longer-term effort to boost mental emergency response teams across the country and ultimately reduce confrontations with law enforcement for people in crisis.

Calling or texting 9-8-8 will connect people to existing networks of over 200 local crisis call centers across the country. If a local crisis center is too busy to respond immediately, the call will be forwarded to one of the 16 backup centers across the country.

The National Su***de Prevention Lifeline’s 10-digit number, 800-273-8255, will remain active, but calls will be routed to 988.

Women’s History Month is an opportunity to reflect on and recognize the extraordinary contributions and achievements women have made to society.

Today, we honor the persistence, determination, and commitment of eight women who improve our understanding, prevention, and treatment of mental illnesses.

Most mental health challenges are treatable if not curable when given access to proper care. In 2021, the Humans Love Love Foundation awarded two grants to individuals living with depression/anxiety who lack the financial resources necessary to begin or continue psychotherapy.
We will continue our efforts to encourage meaningful dialogue about mental health and bridge the gap between those in need and those who can help.

A huge thank you to , .justice , and for their help in this year’s grant-giving.

National Recovery Month takes place every September to recognize and celebrate those that have made strides in their recovery journey. Now in its 32nd year, Recovery month continues to promote and drive awareness for new evidence based treatments, recovery practices, and the proud recovery community.

Just like we celebrate improvements made to physical health conditions like diabetes, heart disease, or hypertension, we should also celebrate and recognize the achievements of those that are working towards or living in recovery.

We have shared some ideas above on how you can show support to this community, but feel free to share in the comments below any additional ways to recognize and celebrate individuals this September.

September is National Su***de Prevention month, and it’s important to spotlight the false stigmas surrounding this mental health condition. This is so people can better understand the realities of su***de and how to best support themselves or those who they know suffer from it.

Su***de is often a taboo topic, and a topic a lot of people can be uncomfortable discussing. We hope that the information shared can help start a healthy dialogue around this mental illness and create an opportunity to bring more awareness to the conversation.

If you or someone you know needs help, please contact the National Su***de Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255)

Some people have a hard time approaching someone who may be suffering or opening up about their own issues simply because they don’t know where to begin.

If you are unsure of what a mental health challenge looks like or even what it means to have a mental health challenge, this post is a simple intro to help get you started.
