Always a pleasure to be invited to The David Brower Center. Tabling this time at University of California, Berkeley Retirement Center Volunteer Expo. Meeting and speaking with Cal alumni and retirees who seek to continue their civic and community involvement. And of course to take a free tree! 🪴 🌳

held a great day of planting trees with and ! It was a great turnout and enthusiastic group of volunteers, city staff and community groups at Alameda’s Main Street Linnear Park. The tree funding was made paoosible with a grant from and with support from and .s.forestservice . Lots of fun and fun things to do! Volunteers planted 50 trees in 50 minutes- our new record! 100K Trees volunteers gave away tree seedlings 🌱 to community members, made seed balls with children, and kept the youngest and everyone entertained! 🤡. Big thanks to .taqueria.oficial para la comida rica! And many thanks to UCSF’s Chase for leading the day’s beginning grounding exercises 👏🏾👏🏾 and to and Doug Henderson of Golden Gate Bird Alliance for the birding pics and tips! 🦆

Americans remember the Triple Cs and Roosevelts Tree Army. They planted millions of trees in hedgerows across the country from 1934 to 1942 to stop the first anthropogenic climate event known as the Dust Bowl.

Now to stop climate change and restore the planet's health, "A large majority of Americans (90%) say they favor planting about a trillion trees to absorb carbon emissions to help reduce the effects of climate change."
