Reposted from a local Alameda, CA community group:

We found a wedding dress she believes belonged to a Coastie family about 20 years ago. Anyone have some connections to pull off this miracle and reunite the dress with the bride?

Details from the post are below:

Long shot: I found this wedding dress in a very well-duct taped box in my attic. It must have belonged to a tenant who lived here between 2003-2007 (not that entire span).

Unfortunately, while I rented my place I used a property management company which no longer has records from that long ago. I would love to reunite this dress with its bride.

What I know about the tenants:

•I believe the couple were both in the Coast Guard

•In or about 2003-2004, they had a baby or toddler

•My best guess, from the dress being boxed up in summer 1999, is that the wedding was also around that time.

•My house is on Bay Farm Island - Centre Court

•The box the dress is in has writing all over it, but ZERO information identifying the business. If anyone happens to recognize the writing that would be a fantastic start. Small chance, but worth a try.

That’s it, the extent of my knowledge. I have no idea if they stayed in Alameda or were stationed elsewhere. I hate to just get rid of this dress, so this is a last ditch effort to see if anyone has a clue.

World War I formally ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. A day we now celebrate as Veterans Day, which honors military veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.

In remembrance of all veterans and especially in remembrance of BM3 Travis 'Obie' Obendorf, family, friends and service members gathered at Coast Guard Island to say thank you.

On Nov. 11, 2013, BM3 Obendorf suffered injuries that eventually led to his death in December 2013. His injuries occurred during a Bering Sea Patrol aboard the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Waesche. The crew was called to assist the F/V Alaska Mist, which lost propulsion and started drifting near Amak Island with 22 persons on board. Obendorf was operating the cutter's small boat as they were evacuating all non-essential fishermen off the Alaska Mist. The cutter small boat crew had just gathered five of those fishermen and were returning to the Waesche via the stern launch. When the small boat encountered a series of swells that washed behind the small boat and caused the head injury to Obendorf.

R.I.P. Travis. We have the watch.World War I formally ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. A day we now celebrate as Veterans Day, which honors military veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.
