Ny'geria is a senior at Eastside High, a proud product of the Medical Skills program. She knew the terminology; she had the grades and even completed her internships. But for a long time, the bridge between a student and a professional felt miles long. She had the head knowledge, but she hadn’t made it personal. She didn't own her voice.

So when coaching was offered to her, she signed up.

NyGeria sat down with Ms. Keira, her very own career coach, and did the hard work. Not only did she work on her resume, submitting draft after draft, but she also showed up for multiple mock interview sessions and asked for advice on her outfit. She walked into those three interviews not just hoping for a chance, but knowing she was the solution.

Her Medical Skills students were doing the work. They had the grades. They had the talent.

But she saw a missing link: her students knew the material, but they didn't know how to sell themselves to an employer. They hadn't made the connection between the classroom and the career.

We stepped into her classroom at Eastside High School as a valued partner to bridge that gap.

Through workshops and 1-on-1 career coaching, we focused on impactful career integration. We didn't just teach them how to write a resume; we taught them how to own their professional identity.

The decisions teenagers make about their futures don't happen in a vacuum. They happen in conversations with coaches, mentors, and professionals who take time to say "here's what this path actually looks like."

Not every student has those conversations. And when they don't, it's rarely about motivation or potential. It's about access.

Last year, LYFEhouse reached 332 students across Alachua County through our Career & Leadership Center workshops. We created real space for young people to learn the skills necessary to take their next steps confidently.

This year, we're going further.

We are expanding our mobile and virtual model by bringing expert coaching and real-world industry experiences directly to students. Whether they are in their schools, homes, and communities, we will bridge the gap. Our goal is to reach 400 students in the next school year.
