We consider it a privilege to have been able to work on this community project that had been many years in the making. A little sweat equity removed over 30 years of soot and grime from the historic AKRON sign.

Thank you to Janis Datsko Sarver collaborating with us to see this project to completion. As a proud member of the Akron Parks Collaborative want our entire community to shine!

Thank you to all those that volunteered their time to help edge out the remaining letters of the AKRON sign at Derby Downs! Special thank you to County Councilman Jeff Wilhite, Janis Datsko Sarver and her family, and Craig Williamson!

This project started last fall with just the letter A and boy did it turn out nice! Today’s goal was to get the grass and weeds cleared away from the remaining letters in preparation for future power washing. 🛞 ✈️

This is a very big project and we are always looking for help! If you would like more information about future clean up dates at the AKRON sign, please send us an inbox message. You’ve never been this close to the sign! 🌼

Congratulations to our Neighbors on well deserved upgrades to their park! Progress in action! 🌼

Together with City of Akron, Ohio - Mayor's Office, we are excited to announce the recipient of this year's Eighth Installment of the Akron Parks Challenge. Heintz Hillcrest Park in Ward 7. This is the 15th selected park in the program and the first in Ward 7.

Member of Friends of Firestone Park, Heaven DiMartino said, “We are incredibly excited and honored to have been selected as a winner of the Akron Parks Challenge. These improvements at Heintz Hillcrest Park will help create a more beautiful, welcoming, and accessible space for everyone who lives, works, and plays nearby. Parks are vital to the health and strength of our communities, and this investment will enhance opportunities for recreation, connection, and enjoyment for residents and visitors alike. We are proud to partner with Ward 7 Councilman Donnie Kammer, community stakeholders, and local residents to bring these improvements to life and enhance the park for everyone."

Keep Akron Beautiful supports our park in Ellet. 🌳Show your support by getting involved with their initiatives all over Akron! Neighbors helping neighbors makes each community stronger. 💪♻️🐝💐

Keep Akron Beautiful is hosting its annual "Clean Up Akron Month" this April. This year, the event is part of the nation’s largest community improvement program.

♻️Davenport Park Clean Up Day♻️ was a great success! Over 60 people came out to pitch in and clean up the park! The Ellet Baseball/Softball Association families showed up just like they always do to get the fields ready for the spring season. Big THANK YOU to everyone that came out and volunteered today! Whether you stayed for 20 minutes or 2 hours, your time helped get the park spruced up! 🌳 Ellet is a community that CARES. 🧡
