Confronting systemic barriers and societal challenges, we empower youth through creative, safe, and affordable housing solutions, actively preparing them to overcome adversity and thrive. Harmony House provides personal hygiene supplies, assessment, Independence Action Planning, Life Skills groups, education assistance and advocacy, information, referral and supportive services. In addition, clie

nts are assisted with obtaining birth certificates, social security cards, proper identification, school enrollment, telephone communication and interviewing skills, developing positive relationships, managing stress and anger, birth control, responding to the police and more.

We’re excited to celebrate Karla McDay, co-founder of Harmony House, Inc., as one of the recipients of this year’s Love Akron Change Maker Award! ❤️

Karla saw young adults experiencing homelessness falling through the gaps and chose to do something about it. Through Harmony House, she has helped create pathways to housing, stability, independence, and hope, reminding young people that their circumstances do not define their potential.
