August 31 is Overdose Awareness Day.

It’s a day to remember loved ones we’ve lost, and to take action to prevent future overdoses.

Carry the overdose reversal medication naloxone with you, and you could save a life. Learn more and get free naloxone at Naloxone.Ohio.Gov.

Through a community wide effort, we can reduce overdoses and eventually prevent death from overdose.

On , remember that grief has many faces, and each person processes it in their own way.

While substance use may seem tempting, it's not a path to healing.

Instead, let's lend an ear, show kindness, and remind each other that no one is truly alone.

And, if you're overwhelmed, seeking help is a step towards strength, not weakness.

As summer starts winding down, SCCP is still here - educating, supporting, and preventing harm in our community.

But this work only continues with community support.

If you’ve been thinking about giving, there’s no better time.

💛 Become a monthly donor and help us carry this work into every season.

Because prevention doesn’t stop when summer ends.

Back-to-School Starts at Home

As your child heads back to elementary school, you're helping shape habits that can support their health and well-being for years to come.

Simple routines like consistent bedtimes, healthy meals, active play, and open conversations can make a big difference in helping children succeed both in and out of the classroom.

The elementary years are also an important time to build trust and communication. Creating a safe space where your child feels comfortable sharing their thoughts, feelings, and experiences helps lay the foundation for healthy decision-making as they grow.

This school year, focus on progress over perfection, celebrate small wins, and remember that your support is one of the most powerful tools your child has.

Here's to a happy, healthy, and successful school year!

Today is National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day.

Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid that is involved in many overdose deaths across our country. What makes fentanyl especially dangerous is that it can be mixed into other substances without a person's knowledge, making even a single use potentially life-threatening.

Prevention starts with awareness. Talk openly with your children and teens about the risks of substance use, the dangers of counterfeit pills, and the importance of never taking medication that was not prescribed specifically for them.

Every conversation matters. Every fact shared can save a life.

If you suspect an overdose, call 911 immediately and administer naloxone if available. Naloxone can reverse an opioid overdose and save a life.

Together, we can build a safer, healthier community through education, prevention, and support.

Wellness isn't just about exercise and nutrition, it also includes how we manage our time, money, and daily habits.

Stress related to finances, gambling, or unhealthy coping behaviors can affect our overall well-being and relationships.

Healthy wellness habits include:
✔️ Setting boundaries with screen time
✔️ Managing stress in positive ways
✔️ Knowing your limits
✔️ Seeking support when needed

This week, think about one habit you can improve to create a healthier balance in your life.

Small changes can lead to big results.
