Thank you to Triple Crown Cat Fanciers for allowing me to host the first regional meeting of the new season! It is my goal to have meetings, even if they are short and sweet, at least once a month at shows throughout the region.
That being said - a quick recap of the meeting held on Saturday, July 11.
First again, thank you to Triple Crown! Thank you to everyone who supported me. I know I have big shoes to fill.
Second - our region is very stable, and sometimes I have a "if it's not broken, don't fix it" philosophy. That being said, I'm thrilled to announce that Teresa Sweeney has agreed to stay on as Regional Banquet Chair. Linda Murphy will continue to lead our Regional Awards Show. Finally, Frank Schaefer will continue as our Regional Coordinator for the Junior Fanciers. If you are interested in helping in any of these areas, please reach out directly to the respective chairs.
Two committees coming out of hibernation - we have an Annual to prepare for in 2029. Our GREAT Great Lakes Region will act as host in Kalamazoo, MI. Anne Mathis has agreed to be our chair.
When planning to host an Annual, fundraising efforts kick into high gear. I hope not to spend too much of what we already have. Cindy Rich has agreed to chair the Fundraising Committee. We will continue to do general fundraising to support the region, but will start earmarking money to help offset any Annual expenses we will incur.

The next Regional Meeting will be on Sunday, August 16 at Monroe Shorthair in Brockport, NY.
