Some people make you feel seen. Some people make you feel valued. Some people change your life. Mrs. Angel Whorton did all three.

As a founding staff member & intervention specialist at the I PROMISE School in 2018, Angel dedicated her life to loving, understanding, and advocating for students who needed her most. Her bright spirit, contagious smile, and unforgettable hugs made every person around her feel seen and valued. One of our students once described her perfectly as the “best part of my day, every single day.”

After years of courageously battling breast cancer, Angel’s strength, hope, and love continued to inspire everyone around her. As we celebrated her life this past weekend, we are reminded that her impact will live on through the countless students, families, and colleagues who were fortunate enough to know her. Her name was Angel, and she truly lived up to it, bringing light, love, and hope to every person whose life she touched.

Thank you, Angel, for showing us that the impossible is possible. You will forever be part of the I PROMISE family. 💙

Teamed up with and MrBeast for an unforgettable afternoon with some amazing kids from St. Baldrick's Canton! These kids are real life superheroes, and it was an honor to share the court with them, and even better to share our space at House Three Thirty to create incredible memories alongside their families.

When LeBron James handed over the keys to House Three Thirty, he wasn’t just welcoming six incredible kids inside, he was opening the door to unforgettable memories, shared joy, and a day that reminded us all what’s possible. 👏

We were honored to welcome Morgan, Ja Kauri, Andrew, Reyna, Benny, Bronx, and their families through MrBeast 100 Wishes campaign, in partnership with Stand Up To Cancer and St. Baldrick's Foundation Foundation. Watching the excitement, laughter, and joy fill every corner of House Three Thirty was a reminder that helping dreams come true is about more than granting a wish. It’s about creating moments that inspire hope, building memories that last a lifetime, and surrounding families with a community that believes anything is possible. 💚

When we opened the doors to I Promise HealthQuarters in July 2024, our goal was simple: deliver high-quality healthcare that puts families first. Two years later, that promise continues to make a difference. 🙌

As we celebrate our second anniversary, we’re proud to serve families across Akron and greater Summit County alongside our partners at AxessPointe Community Health Centers and Coleman Health Services. By offering primary care for both adults and children, mental and behavioral healthcare, dental, optometry, pharmacy and lab services under one roof, we’re removing barriers and making care more accessible. 😁🏥

Last year alone, the I PROMISE HealthQuarters team cared for 5,464 patients. Proof that compassionate, family-centered healthcare is changing lives every day. 💚

Watching our I Promise School students grow in confidence never gets old. 💙

For the fourth straight summer, Nike Swim camp is helping our students learn a skill that can change lives. 🏊Throughout the week we saw first-time swimmers overcome their fears, returning swimmers step into leadership roles to help their peers, and our students discovered confidence they didn't know they had. 🙌
A special thank you to Nike, Firestone High School swim team, and US Sports Camps - NIKE Sports Camps for opening their doors and creating new opportunities for our kids. Because of experiences like this, our students aren't just learning how to swim, they're learning to trust themselves, believe in themselves, and realize they're capable of more than they imagined. 😊
