Momentum Ministry Partners Partners with the local church to provide ministry experiences through programs that equip.

Who helped you recognize what God might be calling you to do?

For Jordan Gillette, that journey included a church community that shaped his early life and Momentum experiences that helped him begin making his faith his own.

Serving through Operation Barnabas (Travel Teams) became a pivotal moment as he considered pursuing full-time ministry. Through Momentum Youth Conference, he gained training, encouragement, and connections that opened opportunities to serve local churches.

Today, Jordan is the youth pastor at Grace Community Church in Goshen.

His story reminds us that investing in future ministry leaders takes time. A student’s first opportunity to serve can lead to deeper questions, meaningful relationships, and a growing desire to dedicate their life to ministry.

Momentum partners with the local church to support that journey from early involvement into adulthood.

Who is taking those first steps in your church? Make time for them, invite them to serve, and help them explore where God may be leading. Check out all of Momentum’s programs to see how we can help nurture those first steps: buildmomentum.org

Same phrase. Four very different feelings 😂

Our students put their acting skills to the test with “Best Week of Summer,” and the delivery makes all the difference!

Leadership development doesn’t happen in a single moment.

It happens over time, through relationships, opportunities, challenges, and people who are willing to invest in what God may be doing in someone’s life.

That’s the continuum we want to help nurture at Momentum.

A child may first experience the local church through sports. A student may be challenged to grow and lead at Momentum Youth Conference. Someone may gain confidence sharing their faith through an Urban Center experience. And years later, that same desire to serve may grow into a lifetime of ministry leadership, supported and strengthened through resources like Momentum PRO.

Not every story follows the same path. But at every stage, we want to come alongside the local church as it raises up leaders who know Christ, serve others, and faithfully live out their calling.

Because building leaders isn’t about one event. It’s about investing for the long haul.

We’re sharing more about this in our latest newsletter, “Building Leaders at Every Stage.”

What could change when students begin to see their own community as a place for ministry?

For Reid, 15, his Urban Center experience opened his eyes and gave him practical strategies for sharing the Gospel with the people around him.

His encouragement to youth pastors and church leaders is clear: GO. For Reid, the experience was life-changing, and he urges churches to recognize the need for ministry here in our own country, including in their own communities.

As your church plans for 2027, consider how an Urban Center trip could become a monumental part of your group’s growth: an opportunity to gain perspective, practice sharing the Gospel, and bring those lessons home.

An invitation to play can open the door to an invitation to belong.

We often think of kids when we talk about sports ministry, but adults need connection, too. Playing together week after week gives churches opportunities to build trust, learn people’s stories, and share the hope of Jesus.

Through Momentum Sports, we encourage local churches, like Grace Church (pictured), to see the court or field as a place for intentional relationships and ministry, no matter the age.

Share this with a church leader who sees the potential in adult sports. Learn more: buildmomentum.org/sports

What is Momentum all about?

We build leaders who build momentum.

We believe the local church matters deeply. That’s why we partner with churches to help raise up people who love Jesus, serve others, and lead with clarity, conviction, and purpose.

You’ll see that mission across everything we do:

Momentum Youth Conference challenges and equips students to live out their faith.

Momentum Urban Centers give participants practical experience sharing Jesus and serving communities.

Momentum PRO comes alongside ministry leaders with coaching, resources, relationships, and encouragement for long-term ministry.

Momentum Sports equips churches to use sports as a place for relationships, outreach, discipleship, and leadership development.
Different programs. One mission: partnering with the local church to equip today’s Christian leaders for tomorrow’s opportunities.

Our 20-year vision is to see 3,000 vocational ministry professionals and 10,000 missional marketplace leaders called, equipped, and sent into service. Those numbers represent people serving in churches, workplaces, and communities.

This vision is bigger than Momentum. God changes hearts. We seek to equip and support the local churches and leaders doing the work He has called them to do.

Whether you’re a pastor, a student, a parent, or someone exploring how to serve, we’re glad you’re here. Get to know Momentum and the ways you can take part: https://buildmomentum.org

Are Momentum Urban Centers trips just for youth groups? Not at all!

We partner with youth groups, college groups, small groups, adult groups, and church leadership teams to create mission trip experiences that reach beyond the trip dates.

The time you spend serving matters. So does what your group brings home: new perspective, stronger relationships, and practical ways to keep engaging your community with the Gospel.

“not to have a sports field, but a place of ministry”

Fellowship CC has plans for a multisport turf field to begin with that purpose. The field is intended to be a welcoming place for the community, including families who may connect through sports before they ever attend a church service.

During his time on stage, Momentum Vice President Donny Varney shared the opportunity churches have to meet families through sports. Fellowship City Church is also planning to hire a full-time sports pastor to guide that ministry as they continue to grow.

We’re grateful for Fellowship City Church’s heart for its community and honored to support local churches as they make sports a meaningful part of their ministry.

What does Momentum build?

Leaders who are prepared to serve Christ, strengthen the local church, and influence the people God has placed around them.

That happens in different environments, but with one purpose.
At Momentum Youth Conference, we partner with churches to create an environment where students can grow in their faith, deepen their connection to the local church, and be challenged to lead and serve.

At Momentum Urban Centers, participants step into hands-on ministry in Philadelphia and Los Angeles, learning practical ways to share the Gospel, serve people, and take those skills back to their own communities.

Through Momentum PRO, ministry professionals receive coaching, resources, relationships, and practical support designed to help them lead faithfully for the long haul.

And Momentum Sports equips churches to use one of the most influential gathering places in our culture as a platform for relationships, discipleship, evangelism, and leadership development.

Different programs. Different stages of life and leadership. One commitment: partnering with the local church to build leaders who build momentum.

Generous partners help make this kind of long-term leadership development possible, creating more opportunities for students, pastors, churches, and emerging leaders to be equipped for lasting Kingdom impact.

That’s what Momentum builds.

Summer is over! Now what?

Students go back to school. Back to practices. Back to their friends, lunch tables, neighborhoods, and normal routines.

And that’s exactly where our slogan, “IMPACT 365,” begins.

Following Jesus shapes the way we live every day. As students spend time with Him, they can learn to recognize opportunities to share their God-story, build meaningful relationships, and point others toward Jesus.

Momentum Urban Centers equip participants with practical experience sharing the Gospel so they can take those lessons home and live them out in their own communities.

As you plan for 2027, give your students an opportunity to grow in confidence and practice living relationally with the Gospel.
