Renu “Making the Possible, Possible.” Our first initiative will be to establish a missional secondhand store in the city of Green, Ohio.

The mission of Renu is “making the possible, possible!” This means that we want to serve as a resource to help develop and empower new non-profits, creatively partner with existing non-profits, help support small, benevolent businesses, and invest in our communities in tangible ways. In order to accomplish this, we believe that generating revenue outside of the traditional means of fundraising will be very important. Our goal is to offer a place for our community to donate gently used items, as well as, to shop for quality items at a discount. The revenue that is created will be used to help resource benevolent initiatives in both our community and beyond!

This morning a sweet girl, probably 10 or 11, came in holding an axolotl stuffie (“it still smells like lavender!”) that she kept with her the entire time. When I asked the story behind it, she told me Children’s Hospital had given it to her because she had so many procedures there.

She was so excited that she had $6 of her own money to spend (which she spent on a cute watch and earrings) and the smile on her face told me how much she has learned to appreciate even the smallest of things.

I told her how brave she was and how much I appreciated her sharing with me. Thank you sweet girl for the gentle reminder to be grateful for simple things, and to find joy in them along the way!
