✨ Introducing our Centennial Honorees! Beginning today, and every Thursday for the next 13 weeks, we'll be celebrating the remarkable women who have helped shape the Junior League of Akron over the past 100 years. We had the honor of celebrating these incredible women at our Legacy Luncheon, and now we're excited to share their stories with you!

Our first honoree is Carol Heiss Jenkins, whose extraordinary career in sports made history. At just 13, Carol became the first female figure skater to land a double axel. She went on to become a five-time World Champion and 1960 Olympic Gold Medalist before dedicating her career to coaching, broadcasting, and supporting the next generation of athletes.

Carol spent 15 years as a member of the Junior League of Akron, giving her time to organizations throughout our community.

❤️ A century of impact deserves a work of art. Created by Zeber-Martell Studio and Gallery, this beautiful installation now graces the Junior League of Akron headquarters as a donor wall honoring those who helped make our Centennial Capital Campaign possible.

Each piece represents a donor whose generosity is helping us invest in the future of JLA while celebrating the women who have built out League over the past 100 years. Together, these individual contributions create something truly special, just like the League itself.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us reach this milestone and continue 100 years of women building better communities in Akron.
