West Hill Neighborhood Organization We are an all-volunteer, 501 non-profit neighborhood organization founded in 1997, located in Akron, Ohio.

Since its inception, WHNO has been working to build and strengthen the ties between the people and businesses in our neighborhood. West Hill CDC services the entire West Hill area from Glendale Cemetery, up Maple St., west to Rhodes Avenue.

The City of Akron Fire Department is now hiring Firefighter/Paramedics, and we’re looking for individuals who are ready to serve with purpose and make a difference in our community.

Starting pay is $31.53 per hour while attending the Fire Academy. Upon successful graduation, pay increases to $34.60 per hour and you’ll continue your career with one of the region’s premier fire departments, with competitive pay, excellent benefits, and opportunities for advancement. 24/48 hour schedule, annual health exams, Paramedic differential pay, Ohio Police and Fire Pension and among so many more benefits The City of Akron Fire Department has to offer.

INSTRUMENTS NEED HOMES — HELP US CLEAR THE SHELVES! 🎷🎺 🎸

Since 2008, the Marilyn Stroud Music Alive program has placed over 800 instruments in classrooms across our broadcast region. Thanks to a recent surge in donations, we’ve got over 50 refinished instruments ready to go — acoustic and electric guitars, brass, strings... it’s all here!
 
Who can pick up: Public school music teachers & administrators 
When: This Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Where: The Summit FM radio station - 309 Woolf Ave, Akron (Ellet Community Learning Center)
First come, first served — while supplies last!

We are excited to announce the new partnership between Heritage Home Program and PNC Bank. Join us at our Open House on August 25th to learn more!

PNC Bank will offer a discounted interest rate to homeowners of older homes referred through the Heritage Home Program on their home improvement projects. Interior and exterior projects qualify.

For qualifying projects, homeowners who apply at PNC must meet the lender’s requirements. If approved, homeowners will receive a .5% rate discount on PNCs Home Equity products used for their Heritage Home Program projects.
