Visitors of all ages are invited to learn, play, and grow with our exciting programming designed to educate and inspire. The Museum showcases regional, national and international art created since 1

The Museum’s collection is presented in a spectacular facility designed by Viennese architectural firm Coop Himmelb(l)au and includes over 7,000 objects, with a strong focus on contemporary painting, sculpture and photography. New exhibitions regularly present prominent artists in various media including painting, sculpture, photography, video, design, and glass.

🌸 Preview the new space and enjoy a one-day-only flower show on Wednesday, September 23 from 11 AM - 7 PM.

🎉 Our free celebration is on Thursday, September 24 from 12 - 9 PM with performances, tours, art-making and more surprises.

🎨 Visit over the weekend from Friday, September 25 through Sunday, September 27. Akron Marathon runners get free admission by showing their bib.

Art Blooms 2026: Color Abounds is presented by the Akron Garden Club and will feature 16 imaginative floral designs paired with works of art, an expansive horticulture display, inventive container gardens, and more!

After more than a year of transformation, the Akron Art Museum’s historic 1899 Building reopens this September with more art, more space, and more ways to experience the Museum.

🌸🌼 WEDNESDAY, 9/23 • 11 am – 7 pm
Free for members | General admission for nonmembers

Get a first look inside the transformed 1899 Building before our official community celebration.

And for one day only, experience Art Blooms 2026: Color Abounds, presented by the Akron Garden Club, featuring floral designs inspired by works of art, horticulture, botanical creations, and photography.

Museum Members can enjoy a preview hour from 11 AM - 12 PM.

Calling all childhood creatives! The Akron Art Museum invites you to Kids Maker Fest on Sunday, December 6th from 12 -3 PM. The event will feature kid vendors who have used their skills to create artwork, products, inventions, and more for you to browse and buy. Choose something for yourself or pick up a gift for a friend, all while supporting the community’s budding business owners.

If your child would like to be considered for a vendor role, please fill out an application here by November 1st:
