Today, students at Sam Salem CLC took a fantastic journey through time with Hey Mavis as they blended music, storytelling, art, and the fascinating history of the Ohio & Erie Canal. 🚂⛵️

Urban Troubadour's Latin America's Influence on Popular Music group performed for students at Woodland Elementary School in Stow-Munroe Falls City School District for FREE last week!
The group highlighted specific ways that Latin America has influenced current American music using several instruments to demonstrate this to the students. They featured every decade from the 1940s to present, engaging the students who clapped along with examples, and asked many questions.

Tina Bergmann and Bryan Thomas shared a variety of instruments with students from Preston Elementary in Cuyahoga Falls including the hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, and double bass. They explained their instruments and engaged the students with interactive segments.

Hey Mavis performed for Voris CLC in Akron earlier this month. They provided a comprehensive experience for students interweaving music, storytelling, art, and history of Ohio and the Erie Canal!

There will be a United States Army Field Band & Soldiers’ Chorus performance open to the community and FREE!!

The performance is Tuesday, April 15th at 7:00 pm.
Tickets can be reserved through the Akron Civic box office.

Sign up your students for a students-only performance from the United States Army Field Band and Soldiers’ Chorus, known as “The Musical Ambassadors of the Army”

They will be held on Wednesday, April 16th at 9:45 am and 12:30 pm and Thursday, April 17th at 9:45 am.
