Yesterday we had the pleasure of joining community members, friends, family, City of Akron, Ohio - Mayor's Office , Summit County Executive's Office, Summit County Council member Elizabeth Walters and Rotarians to celebrate our dear Virginia " Ginny" Wojno. The Rotary Club of Akron donated the funds to have a plaque honoring her installed in the Memorial Garden at the Cascade Locks Park Association Mustill Store and Museum. Ginny was instrumental in the restoration an preservation of the building and the history of the Cascade Valley.

Summer break ends September 9th! We have one more month to play...or in our case eat...Pickle Balls!! 😂 We packed the strange treat for the kids at Innes School for their last day of school, so we had to try one.

Thank you Jared Weiser, National Federation of Independent Businesses State Director, was our guest speaker today. NFIB is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, member-driven organization that advocates on behalf of America’s small and independent business owners—both in Washington, D.C., and in all 50 state capitals.

NFIB was founded by C. Wilson Harder in 1943, whose vision was to give small and independent business a voice in governmental decision-making through advocacy. Since its early history, their agenda has been determined through a one-vote balloting process of its membership. This process still stands today as thet advocate for the independence of small business.

Join us August 23rd to honor the life of fellow Akron Rotarian, Virginia 'Ginny' Wojno-Forney, for her contributions to the founding of the Cascade Locks Park Association and its ongoing sustainability. In remembrance of Ginny, donations may be made to the legacy fund in her name.
