Keep an eye out for some new "No Littering" signs around Akron!

Thanks to the City of Akron, Ohio - Mayor's Office , new signs have been installed in several litter hotspots identified by both residents and our team. These signs serve as a reminder that keeping our city clean is a shared responsibility.

Every piece of litter picked up - or better yet, never dropped helps create a cleaner, safer, and more beautiful Akron for everyone. If you spot one of these new signs, take it as a friendly reminder to do your part and help keep litter out of our neighborhoods, parks, and waterways.

Thank you to the City of Akron for helping spread the message that a cleaner Akron starts with all of us!

A huge thank you to the two incredible interns from Baird's Akron office who joined our Flowerscape crew at Alexander Park today! Together, they helped pick up litter throughout the park and assisted with maintenance work to keep the flower beds healthy, beautiful, and thriving.

We are grateful for their hard work, positive attitudes, and commitment to making a difference in our community. Thank you for helping make Akron a cleaner, greener place!

The ABCs of Trees! 🌳

Trees aren’t just vital for us today, they’re essential for future generations. By educating our community now, we’re helping inspire the next generation of tree stewards who will care for, protect, and benefit from these trees for years to come.

Each week, we’ll highlight a new letter of the alphabet, sharing a tree-related word and what it means because understanding trees helps us better appreciate and care for them.

This week’s letter is T for Tree Risk Assessment: A systematic process used to identify, analyze, and evaluate the likelihood of tree failure and associated consequences.

A huge thank you (and congratulations on 55 years!) to Barberton Tree Service Inc. for being such an incredible partner and collaborator in our mission to keep Akron clean, green, and beautiful.

The hanging baskets are officially up and adding a beautiful splash of color to Downtown Akron! 🌸🌿

You can find them lining the front of City Hall (City of Akron, Ohio - Mayor's Office) as well as across the street at Civic Mall, helping make these community spaces even more welcoming and vibrant for residents and visitors alike.

The next time you're traveling down High Street, be sure to take a look and enjoy the seasonal blooms. These colorful baskets are one of the many ways we work together to keep Akron beautiful all summer long!

A huge thank you to our friends at for their continued dedication and support of Keep Akron Beautiful! Their team goes above and beyond, doing litter cleanups an incredible 2–3 times each week to help keep our community clean, safe, and beautiful.

The UDS volunteers have also generously donated their time at our office, helping organize litter supplies and prepare Recycle Right tags by rubber banding them for distribution. These behind-the-scenes tasks are essential to keeping our programs running smoothly, and their assistance makes a tremendous difference.

We are incredibly grateful for their hard work, positive attitude, and ongoing partnership.

Our friendly Recycling Inspectors are back at it and officially started their routes on Monday! ♻️

Be sure to , Akron! If an item that doesn't belong in your recycling cart is spotted, your cart may receive an "Oops Tag" with information to help you correct the mistake before your next collection day.

We are seeing some great improvement of clean bins across the city, and that's thanks to your hard work and commitment to recycling correctly. Keep up the great work, Akron! We appreciate your efforts to keep our recycling stream clean and effective!
