The Virabrations Project

The Virabrations Project promoting community health as a human and environmental right. (( please visit: www.thevirabrationsproject.org )) the virabrations project.

is a movement that promotes community health as a human and environmental right, fostering positive, global change through local initiatives. In 2014, the virabrations project. has returned home to Akron, after living abroad, with the determination to increase access to nutritious, local, organic food sources in our hometown. Throughout the year we will support organizations which are already esta

blished in the Akron community as leaders of the healthy food revolution as well as create a community garden and hold food-based workshops. In addition, yoga classes are offered through our project as we feel the use of healing practices can ignite compassion and love for body, mind, and community health. Greetings everyone! We wanted to let you know about a very special Labyrinth taking place tonight at the First Congregational Church of Akron (292 East Market Street) from 6:30-8:00 in benefit of the Battered Women's Shelter. Embarking on a Labyrinth journey can be reflective, opening, and meditative. Come see for yourself what this amazing night has in store for the community. And, please, share with your friends!!!

Everything is an intrusion, that is, when you have no time. But as the holiday approaches I hear statements like “there’s nothing like time for family,” and “there must be time for the people you care about, the things you treasure, you must make time for yourself,” and of course, “there is no time…

It feels so incredible to have landed back in Akron, Ohio! After assessing the best ways to reconnect with our beloved Akron community for 2014, we decided to support movements, organizations, and businesses that are already igniting positive change in both our local and global communities. This year, The Virabrations Project is so excited to announce our collaboration with Ms. Julie's Kitchen, plant kingdom, and The W.O.M.B., all positively powerful figures in the Akron community. We'll also be starting our own community garden as we are focusing on increasing access to nutritious, local, organic food! Virabrate with us in 2014!

The Virabrations Project.'s 2013 collaboration with Off the Mat, Into the World™ in their 2013 Global Seva Challenge for indigenous, environmental, and human rights in the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest has officially ended. We began this journey on a quest for justice, setting out to bring to light the fact that oil contamination, deforestation, and unsustainable industrial development had plagued this wondrous land and its people. What the year turned out to be was an immense learning experience as we were challenged physically and mentally in ways we did not even know were possible. By helping to heal the Amazon Rainforest we somehow helped heal ourselves a bit in the process, creating two women who are incredibly excited to continue our to quest to promote equality and love through social justice work! In 2014, the virabrations project. will shift its focus to concentrate on our local food systems but the Amazon will remain a part of our hearts (and we have a feeling we will re-visit this important cause in the future). We would like to extend immense gratitude and appreciation to everyone who helped us along this last year through donations, conversation, and awareness building. You all exemplified your warrior strength to help protect the Amazon Rainforest! We would like to extend a special thank you to Rebecca F. Rogers, Gaby Haiber, Dorrie Shambo, R.d. Hanger, Hillary Buckler, Helga Baumgartner, Bernd Buchberger, Bernhard Schauerr, Constanze Huber, Simeon Soul Charger, Cindy Robertson, Cindy Gardiner, Karia Nelson Lanken, Mickie Hobbs , Vi Schindlbeck, Christina Bauer, Mahendra Myshkin, Anne Schlösser, Pia Ge**er, Naturgarten Schönegge, Markus and Martina Hiller, Monika Althaus, and to all the people who graciously donated to our fundraising campaign or supported our efforts along the way. ♥

Greetings lovelies! Happy 2014! What a beautiful, empowering year it is shaping up to be here at The Virabrations Project.! There are only a few more days left of Off the Mat, Into the World™'s 2013 Global Seva Challenge, focusing on indigenous, environmental, and human rights in the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest. Please consider making a contribution to help fuel this immensely important cause. A humble donation of $1 will protect 2.5 acres of the rainforest or help an indigenous Ecuadorian family take care of one endangered Charapa turtle! Through your contribution you are taking a stand against oil corporations that plague the precious Amazonian ecosystem, placing profit before human rights and environmental protection! Over the last year we have raised $2,384. Can you help the virabrations project. make it to $3000 before the deadline of January 15th?!? No donation is too small! Sending you all love!

I'm powering positive change in Ecuador! Join me in supporting Ecuadorian organizations who are strongly defending rainforest ecosystems, standing for environmental justice, and reclaiming indigenous rights.
