Last week during September’s training, we had a visit from Brent Ahrens of Country Lawn and Garden. Brent brought Stihl’s new, larger battery powered saw line for us to demo. Firefighters were able to try out both chainsaws and rotary saws.
While nothing can truly replace the power of large gas powered saws, battery saws are a great option for smoky environments where gas saws can choke out and their power can be greatly diminished.

Thanks Brent for allowing us to get our hands on these tools!

We want to send a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our golf outing such a great success! We truly couldn’t have done it without the generous donations, our amazing hole sponsors, and everyone who came out to golf, support us, and enjoy the day.

Your generosity and continued support mean more to us than we can put into words. We are incredibly grateful to be surrounded by such an amazing and supportive community. Thank you for helping make this event one to remember!

1st Place was Lake City Bank Akron

Today, we pause in remembrance of the lives lost on September 11th, 2001.

We honor the sacrifice and the courage of all who responded to the fallout of the senseless acts that claimed so many.

25 years.

We promised to Never Forget

And we haven’t

Another Surface Water Operations and Technician skills day in the books! Members from several local departments met this weekend for our second Surface Water Rescue class of the year. Students completed both Operations and Technician level skills including a swim test, boat maneuvers, and several types of victim rescues.
We are proud to be hosting local trainings for not only our own members, but also departments from several neighboring counties!
Tomorrow, we wish the best of luck to our students while taking their state exams. Once successfully passing, HTFD will increase to 8 members that will be certified as Surface Water Rescue Technicians.

We couldn’t have done it without our partners:
Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation
Pleasant Twp. Fireman’s Assoc.
Logansport Professional Firefighters Local 470
Rochester Fire Department

Participating departments included:
Logansport Fire
Rochester Fire
Pleasant Twp. Fire (Wabash Co.)
Macy-Allen Twp. Fire
Pipe Creek Fire (Miami Co.)
