BREAKING RAFFLE NEWS: There will be a kayak in the raffle at our YPA Holiday Party tomorrow night! Along with gift certificates to several local places and some other fun swag. So please come tomorrow night (R. Shea's Canal Place, 6-8:30) and help us raise money to cover the costs for a family of 4 just coming out of homelessness to have everything they need.

Alright guys here’s the deal. We learned the family we are supporting through with gifts this holiday season has a lot of needs because they were recently homeless. They have a place to stay for now but otherwise have a lot of needs—like beds. It’s a mom and 3 kids, twin 9-year-olds and an almost 2-year-old, and no one has a bed. So even though we usually wait until after our Christmas party fundraiser to buy the presents, last night, we went shopping. Because kids need a bed. We bought 4 beds and the bedding and frames to go with them. We’re also making sure to get the kids all the fun things they asked for as gifts. So we could really, really use your help to cover the costs for this family. If you are able to come to our Christmas party on Tuesday and want to buy raffle tickets or make a donation there, that’s great! (We could also use more items for the raffle!) If not, if you would consider making a donation via Venmo (or we can provide info on where to send a check, if you need a receipt) we would really appreciate it. The Venmo ID is . We haven't been to a game in FOR-EV-ER, but there's no crying in baseball, so once we've agreed candlesticks make a nice wedding gift, lay off those high ones, breathe through your eyelids, sacrifice a live chicken, quit lollygagging and get down to Canal Park THURSDAY July 22 for an Akron RubberDucks game with YPA!
(Extra points if you can name all the baseball movies referenced in that last sentence.)
Come cheer on our hometown team, along with a slew of likely rehabbing Cleveland players, because that's just the year they're having.
